Nature's Creativity(PINK LAKE) in Australia

LAKE HILLIER :-

The PINK LAKE is known by the name of "Lake Hillier" situated on the middle island . From above the lake appears as a pink solid bubble gum.The lake is about 600 meter long and surrounded by a rim of sand and dense woodland or paperbark and eucalyptus trees. In spite of that a narrow strip of sand dunes covered by vegetation separates it from the large blue southern ocean.

No one fully knows why the lake is pink.Scientist theorize that the color comes from a dye crated by bacteria that lives in the salt crust. Metthew Flinders in 1802 climbed middle island's highest peak to survey the surrounding water when he came across the  miraculous lake.Middle island is located in a pristine wilderness.

The only way to view this lake is only from the air.Instead of that in the night weather conditions, the lake turns a soft shade of pink due to high concentration of algae in water. The lake is identified by BirdLife international as an important Bird Area(IBA),because it supports significant number of native and migratory birds.
